Jamie Hawkesworth’s approach to photography is grounded in the subtle, elegiac and playful heritage of British documentary photography. Hawkesworth brings his finely-tuned capacities to both observe and choreograph authentic engagements with his subjects into his commercial work. His characterful editorial commissions are published in Acne Paper, AnOther, Dazed & Confused, Double, i-D, LOVE, Man About Town, The New York Times Style Magazine, Self Service, Vogue US, Vogue UK, Vogue Paris, W, and WSJ. Magazine. He has also created highly original and innovative campaigns and catalogs for Alexander McQueen, J.W. Anderson, Loewe, Miu Miu and Tiffany & Co. Jamie Hawkesworth graduated from the University of Lancashire and has created nuanced and empathetic portrayals of the architecture and people of Northern England. His Preston Bus Station photographs and short film were made by Hawkesworth as a member of the collective Preston is My Paris, exhibited as a site-specific work. His thoughtful creation of exhibition installations have been most recently seen at Red Hook Labs, New York with his photography and video exhibition A Short, Pleasurable Journey; Three Suns at Claire de Rouen Books, London; and An Endless Rhythm in collaboration with J.W.Anderson and the J.W.Anderson Workshops in London.
